# Posnic Open Source POS Guides

> Practical, source-linked guidance for evaluating and operating Posnic, an offline-first open source POS and billing software project for retail shops and restaurants.

Posnic supports local Offline POS workflows and self-hosted or optional Online/Offline POS deployments. Posnic-owned source is AGPL-3.0-only; release packages contain separately licensed components documented by the project. Do not infer compatibility with a specific peripheral without checking the versioned hardware evidence and testing the exact device.
